About DBC
Denton Bights Collective is a small, recurring gathering for people interested in rope, connection, learning, and community. We center ourselves with platonic energy, consent, and care. Seasoned riggers, curious bottoms, self-tiers, and the simply rope-curious are all welcome.
What we do
Every session is a little different. Some of what we get into:
- Rope skillshares and mini-workshops
- Group self-ties and flow practice
- Safety and consent check-ins
- Open jam and hangout time
- Grounded conversations about kink, care, and creativity
We're always adapting. Bring an idea and let's talk — what matters most is keeping the space warm, queer-friendly, open, consent-first, and platonic.
Who it's for
- People of all genders and orientations
- Curious beginners through advanced folx
- Queer- and trans-affirming, neurodivergent-welcoming
- Shibari and Western rope alike
This is a consent-forward, anti-hate space. It is not a hookup space — we're about craft, community, consent, and care.
Why “Bights”?
A bight is a loop in a rope — and a loop in a community. We build the space together, no tight knots required. Sure, Denton bites sometimes: too close to Oklahoma, queers out in the country, just chaotic enough to make us roll our eyes with love. But we bight back — softer, weirder, and with a little more rope each time.
About the host
Hi, I'm MiniMuffin — DBC's founder and host. Rope, for me, is about presence, curiosity, and plain body-nerd joy. I came to it as a former gymnast and engineer, and these days I'm a rope nerd and community builder first. I tie for connection and craft, and I started DBC to offer a warmer, lower-pressure on-ramp into rope than a dungeon can sometimes feel like. Thanks for tying in. 💜
